The grower of the kiwifruit I bought is Monrovia, and the nursery I bought it from is Wegmans. The cultivar I selected (Vincent) only needs about 200 hours of chill, and San Jose typically gets 600-800 hours, so you should be fine even with the Hayward cultivar which needs 700.

Only one of the peonies I planted last season sprouted, and it didn't grow much. I think I didn't water it enough. It probably needs to be watering regularly.

Thanks for reading!

Hi,

Can u please provide the name of the nursery of the kiwi fruit grower? Also, we live in San Jose, do you know if our micro-climate might be too warm for this?

In one of your earlier blogs, you mentioned trying to grow peonies. I wonder if u had any success.

I am avid reader of your blog! Thanks for taking the time to put up pictures. Your ideas and passion for gardening are really awesome!

I'd never thought about the plant on which a kiwi grows. Thanks for the photo of the vine.
